Neocon inspirited foreign policy has manifestly delivered failure after failure since Gulf War II and arguably before. As you point out there is never accountability, au contraire, failure is rewarded. "If only we can get it right" writes Tom Friedman. But "we" never get it right. The result is that the neocon collective in Washington and New York has become a Gordian knot that bars the way on the road towards "getting it right". If Trump ever hopes to get a start on that road he is going to have to educate himself to the enduring problem and find the courage to expend the political capital to sever that damn knot. Otherwise we will muddle along until something blows. There is a difference beween Russia/China and Iraq/Libya/Afghanistan though one would never know it thriving in the neocon bubble.

'NeoCon' is very simply the Greater israel project, but everyone is afraid to say so.
